Srinagar, August 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has condemned US decision of designating the largest mujahid organization of Kashmir – the Hizbul Mujahideen – as a terrorist group.
The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Hizbul Mujahideen is fighting at local level against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, “The US decision violates the UN ruling that guarantees the right to self-determination to those fighting against foreign occupations. The Hizbul Mujahideen is fighting at local level for the rights of oppressed and subjugated Kashmiris.”
The spokesman said though America is a big power but keeping in view the changing global scenario, the world is not bound to follow the US rulings. “Those fighting against oppression don’t need anyone’s permission,” he said.
He termed it unfortunate that India is shedding blood in Kashmir by utilizing its whole state machinery to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiments.
Meanwhile, Dukhtaran-e-Millat General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen, in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the Muslims across the world to condemn and denounce the US decision of designating Hizbul Mujahideen as a terrorist organization.
She said, “How ironic is it that an oppressor (India) which is continuing it brutality and oppression in Kashmir is not designated as a terrorist state but the people who raise their voice against the repression and continuous oppression are labeled as terrorists.”
Nahida Nasreen said that India and the US had an anti-Muslim agenda as both countries had killed millions of Muslims and yet they had the audacity to label Kashmiris, who were fighting for their freedom from illegal occupation, as terrorists and pro-Kashmir groups as terrorist groups.
She said in such a scenario it becomes imperative not only for the people of Kashmir but also for the Muslims across the world to strongly condemn and reject the US decision regarding Hizbul Mujahideen.
