Jammu, August 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, members of civil society staged a strong protest in Kishtwar against India’s plans to abrogate Article 35A of Indian Constitution to change the demographic composition of the territory.
A large number of people and civil society activists participated in the protest held in front of district court complex. The protesters raised slogans against the proposed abrogation of Article 35A.
District President Public Awareness Front (PAF), Kishtwar, Shakir Saddiqui, addressing the protesters condemned India’s efforts of tinkering with the Article 35A.
Social activist, Naseer Ahmad Bhagwan, in his address informed the gathering about the bad impact the occupied territory would have by the abrogation of Article 35A.
He asked the government of India to stop its designs to change the demography of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir and resolve the Kashmir dispute peacefully.
