IOK bar to abstain from court work tomorrow

Srinagar, September 13 (KMS): The human rights watchdog, Amnesty International has demanded that the pellet-firing shotguns, which have been responsible for blinding, killing and traumatizing hundreds of people in occupied Kashmir, must be immediately banned.

Releasing a report, titled “Losing Sight In Kashmir, The Impact of Pellet Guns” at a local hotel in Srinagar, the Director Amnesty International India, Aakar Patel said that no amount of violence from the youth could legitimize the use of pellet guns. He said that the Amnesty had raised the issue with the government of India, which understands that the damage caused by the pellets was disproportionate. Patel pointed out that his organization was working in Kashmir for a long time, and since 1989, no case or FIR registered against the forces had been acted upon. »

New Delhi, September 13 (KMS): The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) expressing serious concern over the continued detention of freelance Kashmiri photojournalist Kamran Yusuf by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has termed the move by the Indian agency an attempt to intimidate the journalist community.

Yusuf was held in Kashmir on September 4 for reaching spots, uploading pictures and photos of Kashmiri victims of Indian forces. »

Srinagar, September 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza reacting to the recent visit of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Kashmir has said that the Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved through such visits.
