Friday prayers again disallowed at Srinagar Jamia Masjid

Srinagar, September 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities did not allow congregational Juma prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, on the second consecutive week, by sealing the area to prevent protests against the killing of two youth by Indian troops.

Eyewitnesses told media that all roads leading to the historic mosque were sealed by rolls of concertina wires. No one was allowed to cross the barricades, they said.

“Time and again #JamaMasjid locked down, downtown people caged by the Govt raising the “law and order bogey”. Actually it reflects their paranoia of the fearlessness and courage of the people of downtown city whose resolve they cannot break (sic),” tweeted the Mirwaiz.

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly denounced the continued house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and disallowing of Juma prayers at Jamia Masjid describing the actions ass frustration of the puppet authorities.

He said that sauch shameful tactics could not weaken freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people and they would continue their struggle till complete success.
