Srinagar, September 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has termed the remarks of Indian Home Minister, Rajnath Singh about Articles 370 and 35A as ridiculous.

Rajnath Singh had said that the BJP-led government in India would not go against the wishes of the people of Kashmir on constitutional provisions that guaranteed special privileges to them.

The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that by issuing such statements India wanted to hoodwink the world community and international human rights organizations. He said that the people of Kashmir would continue to raise their voice against the Indian conspiracies and would attract the attention of the world powers towards Indian forces’ brutalities in the occupied territory.

The spokesman said that had India respected the aspirations of the Kashmiri people in 1947, then the situation would have completely different.

He also condemned the continued illegal detention of JI leaders Advocate Zahid Ali and Farooq Ahmad Sheikh.
