Srinagar, September 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) staged a protest in Maisuma area of Srinagar, today, against raids by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Scores of JKLF leaders and activists took out a protest from Maisuma after Friday prayers. They raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards with messages like ‘Release all political prisoners’, ‘Stop NIA terrorism in Kashmir’ and ‘Stop killing of Muslims in Burma’.

The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, talking to mediamen in Srinagar demanded immediate release of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Sarjan Barkati, Aaqib Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed Boya and Irfan Ahmed. He said that the Kashmiris’ liberation movement could not be suppressed through such cheap tactics and it would be taken to its logical end against all odds.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement in a statement in Srinagar condemned the house arrest of party Chairman Zafar Akbar Butt.
