Arrest of Hurriyat activist by Indian army in IOK denounced

Srinagar, September 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) has strongly denounced the arrest of Hurriyat activist, Abdul Hameed Dar, by Indian Army in Bandipora district.

The TeH in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Abdul Hameed Dar, a resident of Aloosa area of district, is a political activist, who has never indulged in any illegal activity. However, it said that the army personnel arrested him without caring for his age and treated him as a criminal.

The TeH quoting the relatives of Abdul Hameed Dar said that the army personnel took him into custody from Sangri area and handed him over to a police station where he was subjected to physical torture. The statement denounced the police action against the Hurriyat activist.
