UN urged to settle Kashmir dispute for global peace

Srinagar, September 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three civilians including a woman, Pinki Kaur, were killed and 28 others injured in a blast and indiscriminate firing of pellets and bullets by Indian troops in Tral area of Pulwama district, today.

The blast had occurred at a bus stand when the cavalcade of a puppet minister, Nayeem Akhtar, was passing through the area. It could not be ascertained whether the killings occurred in the blast or in the random firing by Indian troops.

People took to the streets and staged massive anti-India demonstrations against the brutal action of the forces’ personnel. The protesters told media that the blast was the handiwork of Indian agencies. Block Medical Officer at Sub-District Hospital, Tral, issued a list of 28 civilians injured due to the pellets fired by the troops. Some of the critically injured were shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment. The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement expressed grief over the loss of precious lives in Tral.

The puppet authorities have shifted the illegally detained ailing All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, from Kot Bhalwal jail to Joint Interrogation Centre in Jammu after the High Court of occupied Kashmir quashed his detention orders under draconian law, Public Safety Act. Indian police arrested General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, Muhammad Ramzan Khan, from party office in Srinagar and shifted him to some unknown destination. The authorities have also booked a youth, Reyaz Ahmad Dar of Sopore town under PSA for participating in anti-India demonstrations during 2016 mass uprising.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement issued in Srinagar on the International Peace Day, today, urged the UN to resolve all disputes including Palestine and Kashmir on priority for ensuring global peace. The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamruda Habib, along with party activists held a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar to draw attention of the international community towards urgency involved in the settlement of Kashmir dispute for peace in South Asia.
