Shutdown in Sopore, Tral to mourn of two martyrs
Srinagar, September 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, students of the Central University of Kashmir Nowgam ‘campus 1’ staged protest against the summoning of Kashmir University research scholar by the Indian federal investigation agency, national investigation agency (NIA).

Hundreds of students raising slogans against the Indian investigation agency marched from the ‘campus 1’ of the university to ‘campus 3’ at main Nowgam chowk. Carrying banners reading, ‘I am Aala, Go India Go Back and Stop NIA Stop’, students also raised slogans in favour of ‘Aazadi and Aala Fazili’. »

IOK pellet victims suffer from memory loss
Srinagar, September 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership has said that it will soon come up with a strategy to counter the infamous tactics being used by India’s National Investigation Agency against the Kashmiri people.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar slammed the NIA for extending the judicial custody of Hurriyat leaders and issuing fresh summons to sixty students. The statement said that by pushing NIA into service, Indian authorities were terrorizing and harassing the political leadership, traders’ community, university professors, students, doctors, scholars, lawyers and ordinary Kashmiri people. Gilani, Mirwaiz and Malik said that India could neither break Kashmiris’ resolve nor could bring an iota of change in the nature of Kashmir dispute. Courts in New Delhi extended the judicial custody of senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah till October 13 and seven other Hurriyat leaders till October 17. The NIA has also summoned Independent member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed for questioning in New Delhi on October 3. »

Srinagar September 28, (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown was observed on second consecutive day, today, in Sopore area of Baramulla district to mourn the killing of Kashmiri youth, Qayoom Najar by Indian troops in Uri on Tuesday.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed while traffic was thin on roads.

Najar was killed by Indian troops in Uri area of the district on Tuesday. Authorities closed all schools and colleges in Sopore to prevent protests against Najar’s killing. »

Srinagar, September 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after facing loss of vision, many victims blinded by the pellets are now grappling with loss of memory which could take an ugly turn if the treatment is ignored, doctors and experts have warned.

The doctors said that the pellet victims could face permanent memory loss if they don’t turn up for the treatment, which includes effective counseling and cognitive therapies. »
