New Delhi, September 09 (KMS): Indian police put noted human rights activist, Professor Syed Abdur Rehman Gilani, under house arrest in New Delhi, today.

The police placed Prof SAR Gilani under house detention at his residence in Zakir Nagir area of Delhi who as per the police was presumably coming to the airport to receive senior resistance leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. »

Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one Indian army man was injured during a scuffle between the soldiers in Bandipora district.

The incident took place on late Friday night in Ajas area of the district. The soldier identified as Ashish Kumar suffered bullet injuries in a leg during a scuffle with his colleague. He was shifted to a military hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of the Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the puppet authorities detained him and other Hurriyat leaders to stop them from exposing the NIA drama.

Senior resistance leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gilani, were placed under house arrest while Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested and shifted to Central Jail Srinagar. The action was aimed at stopping the leaders from going to New Delhi and staging a demonstration outside the headquarters of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) against its cruel policies regarding the people of Kashmir. »

The constable, Rayees Ahmad Sheikh, had announced his resignation from Kashmir police saying that he cannot see more bloodshed in Kashmir. He had stated that the people of Kashmir were being killed for seeking their right to self-determination. »

Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of its activists, Umar Aadil Dar and Sajjad Ahmad Butt.

The TeH in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Umar Aadil Dar had been detained in police station Humhama while Sajjad was languishing in police station, Qamerwari, for the past over two weeks. »

Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian Army disallowed government officials and locals to look inside a camp in Devar area of Kupwara district where a missing person Manzoor Ahmad Khan was tortured.

Apart from the missing person, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, another man who was beaten ruthlessly by the army was identified as Nasrullah Khan. The incident took place on the evening of 31st August. »

Massive protests erupt, Internet suspended, schools closed

Srinagar, September 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one Kashmiri youth in Sopore, today.

The troops killed the youth during a violent siege and search operation in Reban area of Sopore. The operation was going on in the area till reports last came in.

Meanwhile, massive protests have erupted in different areas of Sopore against the killing of the youth and military operation by the troops. People from adjacent villages of Hadipora and Chetlora tried to march towards Reban. Indian police and troops used brute force to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. The clashes are going on. The authorities have suspended Internet services and announced closure of schools in Sopore town. »
