India’s policy on Kashmir denounced
Srinagar, October 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three youth in Kupwara and Baramulla districts, today.
The troops killed one youth during a cordon and search operation in Tangdhar area of Kupwara, while two other youth were killed at Rampur in Uri area of Baramulla district.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that people of Kashmir were subjected to extreme state terrorism for pursuing their right to self-determination. He said that the statement of Indian leaders illustrated that India did not want to resolve the Kashmir dispute through political means. The Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that Kashmir was a dispute, which was acknowledged by the world’s highest forum, the United Nations. The JKLF Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Jammu and Kashmir had never been a part of India. The leaders strongly condemned the ban on Aashura processions and the use of brute force against mourners.

Hurriyat leaders including Jahangir Ghani Butt, Zamaruda Habib, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements warned India that fiddling with the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir would have serious consequences.

The Hurriyat forum denounced the continued house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. It said that disallowing Mirwaiz from carrying out social, political and religious activities was a political vendetta on the part of the authorities.

Meanwhile, protests were held in Batamaloo area of Srinagar against the rising incidents of braid cutting of women across the territory. The protesters called for arrest of the culprits.

In New York, Secretary General of World Kashmir Awareness Forum, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, and former AJK Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Choudhary, through a memorandum urged the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres to play his role in resolving the Kashmir dispute. They said that the personal involvement of the UN Secretary General in the matter would help both India and Pakistan to initiate dialogue to ensure peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
