Srinagar, October 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Hurriyat leaders have strongly condemned the ban on Ashura processions and brutal use of force against mourners.
Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar termed it undemocratic and direct interference in religious affairs of Muslims. He said that India through it military might could not suppress the freedom sentiment of the people of Kashmir.
The Chairperson of Kashmir Tehereek-e-Khawateen (KTK), Zamaruda Habib in her statement condemned the use of force on Muharram processions and illegal arrests going on in the territory.
She said that the illegal continued detention of Advocate Zahid Ali of Jamaat-e-Islami and slapping of draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA) on Mohammad Ramzan Khan of JKPFL are the worst human rights abuses to suppress the voice of people who respect freedom and democracy. She said when the people raise their genuine voice against injustice they face arrests and illegal detentions.
