India approves funds for procurement of bullet-proof vehicles for IOK » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, October 04 (KMS): The Indian Government has approved Rs 150 crore for procurement of bullet-proof vehicles and equipment for Indian police and central Reserve Police Force deployed in occupied Kashmir.

Director General of Police, Kashmir, S P Vaid, told media that Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the proposal.

The proposal was cleared by the MHA on August 10; more than a month after the puppet administration submitted it for clearance. In its proposal, the puppet regime had sought Rs 183 crore for replacement of damaged/ condemned bullet-proof vehicles and equipments. The proposal was submitted to the Indian ministry days after six policemen including an SHO were killed in an attack in Islamabad district.

An official, however, said the MHA has told the puppet administration of occupied Kashmir that expenditure on the approved bullet-proof vehicles and equipment is to be booked under Indian Prime Minister’s Development Package for occupied Kashmir.
