Srinagar, October 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in 2016 when the territory witnessed killing of over 100 civilians and injuring of thousands in the firing and shelling of Indian forces’ personnel on protesters, 136 FIRs were registered against people in Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal region of Jammu province for taking part in massive protests against the killings.

The details submitted by the authorities to estimates committee of the so-called Kashmir Assembly revealed that 136 FIRs were registered against protesters in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Poonch districts.

Like the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu province witnessed massive pro-freedom demonstrations following the extrajudicial killing of popular youth leaders, Burhan Wani, on July 8, last year.
