Youth injured as Indian troops fire at him in Mendhar » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, October 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a youth was injured after Indian troops fired upon him without any reason in Mendher area of Poonch district.

The family members of the youth identified as Muhammad Yasir (18) of Balnoi area of Mendhar told media that they were busy in cutting grass for cattle in their fields, when a bullet hit their son and he fell down.

“The bullet hit his leg,” one of the family members said while wishing not to be named. He said, Indian army fired towards the youth and he was wounded.

The family members said that immediately after the youth was injured in single fire, the army personnel rushed there and they shifted him to their health centre at Balnoi. They further said that when their driver approached the army so that the injured youth could be shifted for specialized treatment, the army denied of having any injured youth in their health centre.

“We then approached the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mendhar, who made a phone call following which the injured youth was handed over to us and we admitted him in Sub-Divisional Hospital, Mendhar, for specialized treatment,” the family members said.
