Srinagar, October 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, in all major cities and towns of the territory against the growing incidents of braid-chopping, masterminded by Indian intelligence agencies in the Kashmir Valley.

Strict restrictions were imposed by the authorities in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud areas of Srinagar to prevent protests. All shops, business establishments and educational institutes remained closed, while roads wore a deserted look in Srinagar, Islamabad, Pulwama and other districts of the Valley. The authorities suspended train service in view of the shutdown call, which was given by the joint resistance leadership over the disgraceful acts against womenfolk of Kashmir. Several people, including a five-year old boy, were injured when Indian forces used brute force on protesters, mostly women who took to the streets in Batamaloo, Seer Hamdan, Pahoo and Tral areas. The injured boy, Sibt-e-Haider was admitted to a Srinagar hospital in a critical condition. »

Srinagar, October 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed has urged New Delhi to restrain from harassing and humiliating Kashmiris just to avoid a dignified resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Engineer Rasheed interacting with people of different sections in Handwara and adjoining areas said, “New Delhi needs to understand that Kashmir dispute is not creation of any individual or amalgam but the bitter outcome of partition of 1947. He said it is legal and moral responsibility of the Indian authorities to find out the truth behind braid-chopping incidents. »

Japiur, October 09 (KMS): About 20 Muslim families were forced to leave their village in Rajasthan, India, following threats from Hindu extremists, in a string of events starting with the murder of a Muslim folk singer, police said.

The 200-odd Muslim people, including women and children, are living in houses of their relatives at Balad, about 20 kilo meter from their village Dantal in Jaisalmer district. »

Srinagar, October 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, fresh braid-chopping incidents were reported in Srinagar, Kulgam, Pampore, Shopian and Baramulla, causing protests and clashes between protesters and Indian forces’ personnel.

In Khrew area of Pampore, panic spread after the braid of a middle-aged woman was mysteriously chopped. She was found in an unconscious state, with her braid cut. The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Locals held protests against the incident. The market in the area remained closed for the entire day. »

Srinagar, October 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in what could be termed an inhuman and callous approach, Indian police landed in a Kupwara village with a court warrant for a man, whose family was mourning his death.

Muslim societies mourn the deaths in family for three days and the warrant came on day third, the last day of the mourning. It shocked mourners and the family, reports from Kupwara said. »
