Hurriyat leaders denounce Ahsan Untoo’s arrest » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, October 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War have strongly condemned the arrest of human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, by Indian police.

The police arrested Muhammad Ahsan Untoo from his house and lodged him at central jail in Srinagar. The leaders said that Untoo was punished for raising voice in favor of braid-chopping victims. They said that his arrest had exposed double standards and revengeful policies of Indian authorities against peace-loving people of occupied Kashmir.

Hurriyat leaders demanded early release of Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and said that braid-chopping incidents were meant to create fear among general masses and deflect the attention of the world community from the atrocities committed by the Indian forces in the occupied territory.
