Islamabad, October 12 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter on Thursday held a protest rally at D-Chowk in Islamabad against the braid-cutting of women in occupied Kashmir.

The speakers on the occasion condemned the continued Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and urged the international community to play role in granting Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

They also denounced the continued detention and house arrest of Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Zafar Akbar Butt and demanded their immediate unconditional release.

The Hurriyat leaders said that complete peace in region is impossible without resolving the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile, a protest sit-in was held in Muzaffarabad against the arrest of human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo by Indian troops in Srinagar. The protesters demanded immediate release of the human rights activist amidst anti-India slogans.

The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. They also condemned the continued detention and house arrest of Hurriyat leaders and demanded their release.

A large number of civil society members and students participated in the protest demonstration.
