JRL urges IOK people to hold demonstrations on Friday » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, October 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has urged the people to hold peaceful demonstrations after Friday prayers against incessant braid-chopping incidents.

The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar said that braid-chopping incidents were increasing and spreading across occupied Kashmir, leading to great insecurity and fear among the people. “It looks like another ploy to frustrate the resilient and unyielding people of Kashmir,” they added.

The leadership asked the people to form local committees in mohallas and localities to deal with this challenge and increase vigil in and around their areas.

They said the people have been completely left at their own to deal with this crisis and the police and related institutions are in denial while these institutions are quick and pre-emptive at using pellets and locking up Kashmiris for holding peaceful demonstrations.

They also postponed the TRC rally announced for October 14 in wake of serious concern and distress among people due to the braid-chopping incidents across the occupied territory.
