Brussels, October 13 (KMS): The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider, has said that the EU-based Kashmiri and Pakistani youth can play a valuable role in the context of Kashmir cause in the region of Europe.

Raja Farooq Haider was addressing a gathering of Kashmiri and Pakistani youth especially students from different universities in Brussels.

It is important to mention that the AJK Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider and senior minister Chaudhry Tariq Farooq are currently on a visit to Belgium in connection with Kashmir EU-Week at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Raja Farooq Haider said that the youth should create awareness about the Kashmir dispute in Europe. They should talk to European youth, intellectuals, politicians and parliamentarians on true reality of the Kashmir dispute, he added.

The gathering was followed by a dinner arranged by UK-based Kashmiri figure and businessman, Tariq Butt. Prominent Kashmiri leader based in Belgium, Sardar Sadique also addressed the gathering while the programme was moderated by Chaudhry Imran Saqib. Senior Minister of AJK, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union, Ali Raza Syed, MEP Wajid Khan, MLA Raja Javed Iqbal, Member Brussels Parliament, Dr Zahoor Manzoor, and woman councilor Shazia Manzoor were also present on the occasion.

The AJK’s PM said, “We have to introduce ourselves without our political party affiliation in Europe. I came here as a Kashmiri and for that I can highlight the issue of Kashmir effectively. I left my party affiliation in Islamabad.” He also advised the other Kashmiri leaders to put aside their political party affiliation when they travel abroad.

Emphasizing on importance of Diaspora communities in Europe, Raja Farooq Haider also called for unity among the Kashmiris and Pakistanis living in Europe.

Host of the gathering, Tariq Butt, expressed his gratitude to the participants and lauded the efforts of AJK Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider, and KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, for highlighting the Kashmir cause in Europe.
