Srinagar, October 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, expressing serious concern over the rising incidents of braid-chopping in the territory has said that it is responsibility of the puppet authorities to identify and expose the braid-choppers.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi addressing a public gathering in Budgam said that the callous and insensitive approach of the authorities was adding fuel to the fire. He said braid-chopping is not just an assault on the body of a woman but on her dignity. “This amounts to a grave human rights violation against womenfolk of Kashmir and this is a trick to instill fear among people in Kashmir. On one side the authorities say it is mass hysteria, and on the other, they announce rewards for those who catch hold of the culprits,” he said.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi said those involved in such heinous crimes should understand that society will not spare them and besides such acts will counterproductive for those on whose behest they work.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, Zamruda Habib, in her statement in Srinagar expressed concern over growing incidents of forced braid-chopping in occupied Kashmir.

She said, it is really unfortunate to have a woman puppet Chief Minister, who thinks that her “Tweet” is not enough to address the serious issue and practically failed to bring the culprits to justice. The police have not even started the investigation when the women and girls are facing these terrible incidents, she deplored.
