Srinagar, October 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has expressed concern over the prevailing political uncertainty, people’s miseries, braid-cutting incidents, arrests and lockdown of educational institutions.

A DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people’s protest across the Valley against the attack on the chastity of women was timely and justified.

He strongly criticized the puppet administration and said that by caging the Hurriyat leadership, the authorities declared victory for themselves but didn’t succeed in creating a wedge between people and the resistance leadership. He said that the present regime had pushed the territory into further anarchy and uncertainty.

The spokesman strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail and detention and house arrest of Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and dozens of others and said all is being done to suppress the voices of truth.

He said the authorities are living in a fool’s paradise if they think that by maligning the image of resistance leadership through media trial or other tactics, the people of Kashmir will be forced to accept the readymade solution. He said Kashmir dispute is a living reality which needs to be resolved through dialogue among all the stakeholders as violence is not solution to it.

Terming the cutting of braids of women as an attack on the chastity, honour and dignity of womenfolk, the spokesman said that such situation was unacceptable to any nation. He said the authorities by failing to nab the culprits have exposed themselves that they are good for nothing.
