Srinagar, October 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a policeman was killed and two others including an assistant sub-inspector were injured in an attack on their vehicles in Kulgam district.

The attack took place at Nandmarg near Damhal Hanjipora crossing when the police party travelling in two vehicles was returning from Daniv Kandimarg village.

The attackers opened fire on the police party heading back to district police lines Kulgam. Both the vehicles skidded off the road. Police driver identified as Constable Khurshid Ahmad received bullet injury in his head and died on the spot.

Two other policemen sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital where from they were moved to Srinagar for specialized treatment. The injured policemen were identified as ASI Abdul Rashid and head constable Ghulam Nabi.

The police party which came under attack was present there for the security so-called MLA Noorabad Abdul Majid Paddar, who was attending a function at Dani vKandimarg. Soon after the attack police, army and paramilitary forces rushed to the spot and carried out searches.
