JRL calls for complete shutdown tomorrow

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people including women staged massive demonstrations across the territory, today, to protest against the incessant braid-chopping incidents. Several people sustained injures due to the use of brute force by Indian police and troops on the protesters.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and sealed Jamia Masjid on the fourth consecutive week, disallowing the Juma prayers at the historic mosque. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have arrested the Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami and prominent religious scholar, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, today, along with other party leaders.

Qazi Ahmed Yasir was arrested near Awantipora and was lodged in police station, Awantipora. He was on his way to Tral to address a public meeting at Khanqah-e-Shah Hamdan in Tral. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities disallowed congregational Juma prayers for the fourth consecutive week, today, at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar by imposing restrictions in the area.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who address the faithful at the mosque every Friday was placed under house arrest early today.

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the right eye of an 18-year-old 11th class student was damaged after Indian forces’ personnel fired pellet on him in Srinagar.

The incident occurred when a group of youth was chasing two braid choppers and Indian police fired pellet on them near Dal Lake.

The 18-year-old Wahid Manzoor sustained serious pellet injuries on his body, including his right eye on October 13. At general specialty SMHS Hospital in Srinagar doctors declared the right eye of Wahid as “dead” and suggested a surgery on it. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for a complete shutdown tomorrow (Saturday) against the unabated braid chopping incidents.

The resistance leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar after a meeting at the Hyderpora residence of Syed Ali Gilani on Thursday night appealed to the Kashmiri people to observe civil curfew tomorrow.

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has stressed the need of unity to fight the menace of braid-chopping.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that safeguarding the honor of mothers, sisters and daughters was important but attacking and hurting innocents in the name was gruesome and criminal.

Meanwhile, on the JRL call, the JKLF leaders and activists along with people from all walks of life staged a protest rally against growing attacks on Kashmiri women. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest, today, ahead of his scheduled visit to Charar-e-Sharif shrine.

A spokesman for the forum in a statement in Srinagar said that a posse of Indian policemen arrived at the Nigeen residence of the Mirwaiz and informed him of his detention. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today, after Indian troops used brute force against peaceful protesters.

The troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters in main Hajin market, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the troops. After the clashes, shopkeepers downed their shutters and ran for safety. »
