Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders including Zafar Akbar Butt and Javaid Ahmad Mir have said that Kashmir dispute is a serious issue and needs political resolution.

Mir in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that settlement of Kashmir dispute could fill the gap and form a bridge to promote mutual understanding and friendship.

They also expressed concern over increasing braid-chopping incidents in the territory, saying that enough is enough and added that it was a ploy to divert attention from the real issue.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Ghulam Nabi War in their joint statement in Srinagar expressed serious concerns over the increasing incidents of braid-chopping in every hook and corner of occupied Kashmir.

They said such incidents are meant to create fear and confusion so that the atrocities committed by the occupation forces are not under the scanner of international community. They said, “Growing attacks on women and acts of braid chopping were a direct attack on our dignity and no Kashmiri will tolerate these attacks anymore.”

The spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) in a statement issued in Srinagar also denounced the growing incidents of braid-chopping and held the authorities responsible for it.
