Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities disallowed congregational Juma prayers for the fourth consecutive week, today, at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar by imposing restrictions in the area.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who address the faithful at the mosque every Friday was placed under house arrest early today.

A spokesman of the Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was scheduled to visit Charar-e-Sharif shrine, today, and address a gathering there.

Restrictions were imposed in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma, Kralkhud and other areas of Srinagar to prevent protests against braid-chopping.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for protests against braid-cutting incidents.
