Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has stressed the need of unity to fight the menace of braid-chopping.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that safeguarding the honor of mothers, sisters and daughters was important but attacking and hurting innocents in the name was gruesome and criminal.

Meanwhile, on the JRL call, the JKLF leaders and activists along with people from all walks of life staged a protest rally against growing attacks on Kashmiri women.

The JKLF leaders and activists including Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ashraf bin Salam and Muhammad Azeem Zargar along with people from many walks of life gathered at Sarai Balla, today, and marched towards Amira Kadal where they staged a peaceful sit-in.

The protesters were holding placards in their hands and were raising slogans against growing attacks on womenfolk. The JKLF leaders, Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri addressed the protesters.

Terming these attacks as cowardly acts of hidden enemies, they said growing attacks on women and ugly acts of braid chopping are a direct attack on our self-respect and no Kashmiri can bear these attacks anymore.
