Srinagar, October 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Ummat-e-Islami has strongly condemned the arrest of its Chairman, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, by Indian police and demanded his immediate release.

The UeI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the police had arrested Qazi Yasir from Sangam in south Kashmir on Friday when he was on his way to Tral area of Pulwama district to address a public gathering.

The spokesman condemning the arrest said that Qazi Yasir was also scheduled to visit the house of martyred mujahid leaders Burhan Wani and Sabzar Ahmed. He termed his arrest as frustration of the puppet authorities.
