Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a man was killed in an attack in Bijbehara area of Pulwama district, Sunday night.

Reports said that the deceased was identified as Shakir Ahmad of Uttar Pradesh, India.

They said unknown attackers fired upon Shakir in Arwani area of Bijbehara, resulting in his death. »

Indian troops kill youth in Kupwara today
Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that incidents like braid chopping are being carried out to force the Kashmiri people to relinquish their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Syed Ali Gilani said this while addressing APHC Executive Council meeting, which was held at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar, today. The meeting, presided over by the octogenarian leader, was attended by around a dozen of its constituent members. Syed Ali Gilani condemned the police raids on the residences of Hurriyat leaders and praised the commitment of the Kashmiri political detainees. He said that the sacrifices of political detainees had given an impetus to the Kashmir’s freedom struggle. »

The SSP of Awantipora in a media interview in Srinagar confirmed the incident saying that a woman identified as Yasmeena was killed while another, Ruby, was injured in firing by attackers in Seer area of the district. »

Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the personnel of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) involved in the killing of over 40 civilians including 25 students on this day in 1993 in Bijbehara are yet to be punished, despite passing of 24 years.

Forty-five civilians fell to the bullets of BSF when they were peacefully protesting against the military siege of Srinagar’s Hazratbal shrine. The massacre had triggered massive protests across the occupied territory following which the puppet administration had ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident. The massacre was carried out by the 74th Battalion of BSF and the unit was shifted from the area after the probe started. »

TeH leader Shaba’an Dar facing detention under PSA

Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of a woman, Atifa Tabasum of Wanpora village in Kulgam district, has been forced to defer her wedding scheduled for today after police did not release her illegally detained father.

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat District Kulgam President, Muhamad Shaba’an Dar, 62, is detained under the draconian law, Public Safety Act.

Although, the High Court had quashed his second PSA detention order last week, yet the police did not release him. Atifa, who is the eldest daughter of Muhamad Shaban Dar, was scheduled to get married on Sunday as the family was anticipating his release. »

Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, locals handed over six suspected braid choppers to police at Lar in Ganderbal district.

Six suspected braid choppers were spotted roaming suspiciously in Repora area and were caught by the locals and handed over to police without any harm.

SHO Lar told media that six suspected braid-choppers were caught by people while they were roaming suspiciously. “The good thing is that the people without taking law into their hands called the police immediately and handed them over,” he said. »

Srinagar, October 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops during their continued state terrorism martyred a youth in Kupwara district, today.

The youth was martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Ananwan area of Handwara.

However, Indian army in a statement in Srinagar claimed that the youth was killed during an encounter. The operation was going on till last reports came in.
