Muzaffarabad, October 23 (KMS): A protest rally was held outside the UN office against growing incidents of braid chopping and Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.

The participants of the rally marched from Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk to UN and staged a sit-in there. They raised slogans against atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces in the occupied territory.

The participants were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. They were also raising high-pitched slogans against India and in favour of freedom.

The speakers on the occasion denounced the Indian rulers and their stooges in occupied Kashmir for not protecting the women and especially girls from braid-cutting. They said that so far the braids of more than 300 women had been chopped off.

They said the forces personnel are involved in the worst kind of human rights violations but the international community and the world human rights organizations have become mute spectators.

The called for immediate end to atrocities on the innocent people of Kashmir especially womenfolk and appealed to the United Nations, OIC and other rights organizations to play role and put pressure on India to stop rights violations in the territory.

The speakers included Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, MLA Rifat Aziz, Hamza Shaheen, Usman Ali and Chaudhry Nazeer Sani.
