Troops launch massive operation in Shopian

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe Black Day on Friday, the 27th October, to convey to the world that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir against their will and is denying them their inalienable right to self-determination.

It was on 27th October in 1947 when Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent and against the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

The day will be marked with a complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir and rallies in world capitals. Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by other pro-freedom organizations. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has said that 27 October 1947 is an unfortunate day when the people of Jammu and Kashmir were deprived of their freedom and liberty after India landed its troops in the territory and forcibly occupied it.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued in Srinagar called for complete shutdown on Friday to observe the day as black day. The leaders said that India had occupied Kashmir without any constitutional and moral justification and against the wishes of Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that involving families into political affairs, arresting sons for fathers and fathers in place of their sons, has been a long ploy of Indian occupation.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said arresting Syed Shahid Yousuf, son of Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency and attacks on family members of those, who are engaged in freedom struggle, are glaring examples of these atrocities. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the police have booked a man under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), of Ganderbal and shifted him to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.

The police had last week arrested Mohammad Shafi Khan, a resident of Arhama area of Ganderbal, on charges of allegedly tying a policeman to a chair in the district after the cop clicked a woman by his cell phone. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar, has called for tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and the genuine Kashmiri leadership to settle the Kashmir dispute.

Zafar Akbar Butt addressing public gatherings in Buchroo and Kralpora areas of Badgam said that all the stakeholders that both India and Pakistan needed to take bold steps for resolution of the lingering dispute. »

Prime Minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq, senior Hurriyat Conference leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Nafees Zakriya spokesman FO and government officials of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, leaderships of APHC and a large number of people from different walks of life would participate in the seminar. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has strongly condemned the arrest of Shahid Yousuf, son of United Jihad Council Chief, Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency in New Delhi.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the move a desperate attempt on the part of India to cow down pro-freedom leadership. »

New Delhi, October 25 (KMS): Indian opposition parties including Congress and Communist Party as well as editors and writers have expressed doubt about seriousness of Modi-led government to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad, addressing a joint press conference of opposition leaders in New Delhi said, the Congress party suspects the intent of the BJP government in resolving the Kashmir issue. He termed the appointment of an interlocutor as mere a publicity act. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, former bureaucrats, academicians, businessmen, doctors, human rights activists and retired judges have rejected the police claim that braid chopping was a result of mass hysteria, saying that these disgraceful acts are being carried out in a well-planned manner to serve the interest of the Indian state.

Speaking at a conference organized in Srinagar by Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS), the civil society members decided that they would independently investigate the phenomenon to reach a conclusion. »

Srinagar, October 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched a massive cordon and search operation in Shopian district, causing immense inconvenience to the people.

The troops and paramilitary personnel laid a siege around more than a dozen villages of the district early morning today and started searches. The siege and search operation is going on in Sugan, Heff, Shirmaal, Nagbal, Barbugh, Chitragaam, Turkawangam, Maldeera, Kashew, Kadgam, Nullayposhwari and other villages. »
