APPG UK to probe human rights abuses in IOK

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and all across the world will observe Black Day, tomorrow, to reiterate their pledge to continue the liberation struggle against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir till complete success.

It was on 27th October in 1947 when the Indian troops landed in Srinagar and forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir in total disregard to the partition plan of the Subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The day will be marked with complete shutdown in the occupied territory and rallies in the world capitals. Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by other pro-freedom organizations and High Court Bar Association. »

APPG to start parliamentary enquiry on HR abuses in IOK

London, October 26 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) in collaboration with the Pakistani High Commission in London organised a Kashmir conference in the British Parliament.

The conference chaired by Barrister Imran Hussain, MP and Vice Chairman of All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir in the British Parliament, was attended by more than 20 parliamentarians of both Houses and all parties. Special guests were Executive Director of Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam and Pakistani Deputy High Commissioner, Zahid Hafeez. »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have urged the settlement of Kashmir dispute through implementation of the relevant resolutions of the United Nations.

Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi led a peaceful protest in Srinagar in connection with October 27 illegal occupation of Kashmir by India. »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Srinagar has directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to furnish details of cases registered against Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi by November 30.

The application was moved by advocate Mir Uzfi before the CJM. The counsel stated before the court that from last six months Aasiya Andrabi had been put behind bars without any justifiable cause, so it is imperative to report on number of cases registered against her.” »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, residents of Kunzar area of Tangmarg in Baramulla district, today, staged a protest against disappearance of a boy from his house in Mehmoodpora.

The protesters said that the boy, Showkat Ahmad, a 10th standard student, left home in Turke-Batpora village on Wednesday afternoon to get a medical checkup. »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists lodged in different jails and detention centres in and outside the territory.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the political prisoners were for no reason implicated in fake cases. Hailing the meritorious services and sacrifices rendered by the political detainees, he said that they had created a history and ‘we salute them for their steadfastness, persistence and commitment’. “Their commitment and exemplary bravery will certainly rejuvenate movement and infuse new spirits among young generation,” he added. »

Islamabad, October 26 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has said the chief factor responsible for the Pakistan-India tension and plight of the Kashmiris is the 70 years long Indian military presence in Kashmir and continuous flouting of the UNCIP resolutions by India since late 1940s.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad on the eve of Indian invasion on Jammu and Kashmir and forcible occupation of the territory in 1947 said a sustained dialogue on Kashmir is the only peaceful method to settle the dispute. He said India’s track record has been treacherously discouraging and no talks could yield positive results without the involvement of the Kashmiris in these talks. »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have said that 27th October 1947 is the darkest day in the history of Kashmir when India in total violation of all international norms and democratic values landed its troops in Jammu and Kashmir and occupied the territory against the will of the Kashmiri people.

A spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir never accepted India’s forcible occupation of their homeland. He said that Kashmir had never been part of India and that Kashmiris would continue their freedom struggle against this illegal and forcible Indian rule till settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with their aspirations. »

Srinagar, October 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has termed the shifting of its Chairman and senior APHC leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, back to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu as political vendetta.

The JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was produced before a court in Srinagar in a fake case registered against him at Shaheed Gunj police station. »
