London, October 27 (KMS): A Kashmiri delegation met with the Conservative Party Chairman and member of the British Parliament (MP), Sir Patrick McLaughlin, at Halifax in Yorkshire, UK.

The delegation comprised Raja Najabat Hussain, Harry Boota, Samina Khan, Chaudhary Mohammed Akram, Sardar Abdur Rahman Khan and Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam.

The delegation met Sir Patrick McLaughlin on the occasion of a Conservative Party dinner hosted by Amjad Bashir, Member of European Parliament (MEP), on Thursday.

The delegation while handing over a memorandum to the Conservative Party Chairman demanded the UK government’s active role in getting the Kashmir dispute resolved.

The delegation appreciated the UK Parliament’s motion in support of the Kashmir cause adopted on 19th January 2017. It also requested the Chairman to implement the proposals of the motion.

The delegation also held a meeting with Vice Chairperson Conservative Party and Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir in the European Parliament, Anthea Mcintyre MEP, in Birmingham. The delegation comprising Raja Najabat Hussain and Shaikh Tajammul-ul Islam apprised her about the latest situation of Indian occupied Kashmir particularly the atrocities perpetrated by the Indian troops against the people of Kashmir. The demographic changes being made by in the occupied territory were also discussed in detail. The MEP assured her full support to help people of Kashmir in achieving justice.
