Srinagar, October 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops raided the house of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM) Chairman, Molvi Bashir Irfani, in Srinagar and harassed his family members.

The JKMM in a statement said that the troops raided the house of the party Chairman in Aaloochi Bagh area of Srinagar from 1:00am to 2:30am on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday and subjected the inmates to harassment. It strongly denounced the action terming it as the worst kind of state terrorism.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in a statement in Srinagar praised the illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists for their patience and steadfastness and said that their sacrifices would not go waste. It said that party Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, and other Hurriyat leaders and activists including Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Dr Shafee Shariati, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Muhammad Yousuf Mir and Muhammad Rafique Ganai had been lodged in different jails of India and the occupied territory. He urged the world community and international human rights organizations to use their influence and help in the release of the Kashmiri political detainees.

Hurriyat leaders, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob and Muhammad Yasin Attai in a statement in Srinagar said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute was essential for peace and prosperity of South Asia. They said that India was using new tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation movement but would never succeed in its nefarious designs.
