Syed Shahid Yousuf was presented before the court of Justice Poonam A Bamba who sent him to infamous Tihar Jail on seven days judicial remand.

Meanwhile, expressing serious concern over victimization of his family members, Syed Salahuddin said that his children were being repeatedly subjected to oppression and suppression by Indian authorities because of his involvement in the ongoing Kashmir movement. Salahuddin made the remarks while talking to a Srinagar-based English newspaper over the arrest of his son Syed Shahid Yousuf by the NIA.

“After choosing this path of freedom struggle 28 years ago, I bade adieu to my family. I have absolutely no role in the upbringing and education of my children,” he said, adding: “Whatever they are today and wherever they stand is the result of their individual efforts.”

He asked his family members to demonstrate patience and turn to Allah almighty and seek his blessings in these testing times.
