Srinagar, November 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, today, said that New Delhi is using its investigating agencies Enforcement Directorate and National Investigation Agency as a tool to force the pro-freedom leadership into submission.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that he would rather prefer to spend his entire life in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail than to surrender before India’s fresh ploys aimed at making the Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership bow.

The JKLF Chief said that through media he came to know that Government of India’s Enforcement Directorate had issued a notice in his name on Friday. He said that the notice had been circulated through media to intimidate him. He linked the issuance of the notice to the rejection of India-appointed interlocutor by the resistance leadership and said that this was being done to hold a dialogue at gun point. Yasin Malik said that intimidations, suppression and coercion could not pull the resistance leadership to enter into any dialogue.

“The case dates back to March 2001 and its trial is already going on in POTA court in Jammu. On Friday, I came to know through media that ED has issued a notice to me regarding the same case,” the JKLF Chairman said. He said that when the trial of the case was already going on in a Jammu court, he wondered as to what was the fun of issuing notice to him.

“Basically, the very motive of sending notices to resistance leadership is to make them surrender. I want to convey to New Delhi that I am ready to spend my entire life in Tihar Jail rather than surrender [before them],” the he said. “Kashmir movement is a love for us and lovers don’t surrender. We would rather prefer to die in Tihar Jail than to surrender,” he added.

Yasin Malik said that the BJP-led regime in New Delhi could not understand the love of Kashmir’s resistance leadership towards the ongoing movement. “They (BJP) were nowhere in sight when Quit-India Movement was launched against the Britishers. So those at the helm in New Delhi at this stage can’t understand let alone acknowledge our commitment towards Kashmir’s freedom movement,” he maintained.
