Srinagar, November 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched a massive cordon and search operation in over a dozen villages of Shopian district, causing huge inconvenience to the people.

The troops cordoned off Kadgam, Barbugh, Chiterwich, Imamsahib, Hillow, Manihal, Amurbugh, Badimarg, Yamrach, Munad Gofan, Woyen, DK Pora and villages early this morning. The troops have sealed all entry and exit points and conducting searches in a very vast area, locals told media.

This is for the fourth time in last five months when the troops launched such a massive search operation in Shopian district.

Meanwhile, Indian army, police and Central Reserve Police Force also launched a joint operation in Arizal area of Badgam district. Reports said that heavy deployment of the forces was made in the area. An official said that the cordon and search operation was launched in Bunpora locality of Chill Brass village in the district. The forces’ personnel were conducting house-to-house searches when the last reports came.

Meanwhile, a Special Police Officer (SPO) of Indian police was injured when some unknown persons fired upon him in Islamabad town. The injured SPO was posted outside the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the town.
