Indonesian media delegation apprised of IOK situation » Kashmir Media Service

Islamabad, November 09 (KMS): A meeting was held between a delegation of media groups from Indonesia and a team of Kashmiri representatives in Islamabad.

The Kashmiri representatives including Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, Shaikh Abdul Mateen and Pervez Ahmad Advocate apprised the Indonesian media delegation about the prevailing situation of occupied Kashmir. They were told that hundreds of thousands of Indian army and paramilitary personnel were perpetrating the worst kind of state terrorism against the Kashmiri people. The Indonesian delegation was informed about the use of pellet guns by the Indian forces’ personnel on peaceful protesters in the occupied territory.

The Kashmiri representatives told the delegation that Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute and the United Nations Security Council had passed several resolutions for its settlement through holding of plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir under the supervision of the World Body. They said that the Kashmiris were struggling to secure their right to self-determination, guaranteed to them by the international community.

The Kashmiri representatives said that to defeat the purpose of the UN resolutions on Kashmir, India was planning to change the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir.

The Indonesian media delegation included Devi Monica Lumanaw, Andini Effendi, Arif Zulkifli, Imanuddin Razak and Elok Dyah Messwati.
