People’s voice being suppressed by detentions, torture

Srinagar, November 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India is continuing its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir by dint of over seven hundred thousand troops, a biased judiciary and communal media.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people of occupied territory were being subjected to the worst kind of human rights violations. He strongly condemned the shifting of senior APHC leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu after booking him under draconian law, Public Safety Act, framing of charges against another senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, and extension of judicial remand of Hurriyat leaders, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Nayeem Ahmed Khan in Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. He termed these actions as the worst form of political vendetta. »
