Srinagar, November 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has paid rich tributes to late Khawaja Sanaullah Butt and late Sufi Ghulam Mohammad on their death anniversaries.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that their contribution for journalism, social, literary works and towards suppressed people was a shining part of history.

Recalling services of late Khawaja Sanaullah, he said that he was father of journalism and he had several chances to meet him at his residence, where he was living in complete isolation.

Haling services rendered by late Sufi Ghulam Mohammad, Syed Ali Gilani said that he was very affectionate and close to him and he would be remembered for pleading the case of suppressed people, saying that he played a great and impressive role to highlight the sufferings of distressed people in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani expressed his deep grief over the demise of prominent journalist and politician, Om Saraf and extended his condolences with the grieved family. “Since my stay in Mujahid Manzil, we were good friends, said Gilani and it was my routine to meet him whenever I visited to Jammu,” he added.

He also condemned the forces for their brute behaviour and expressed deep grief and concern over indiscriminate pellet firing and seriously injuring a student of 11th class, Zahid Manzoor.

Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement in Srinagar, paying rich tributes to Khawaja Sanaullah Butt and Sofi Ghulam Muhammad on their death anniversary, described them as shining stars of the history of journalism in Kashmir.
