Srinagar, November 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kathua jail authorities have refused to accept a youth from Islamabad district because of his fresh surgery wounds.

Khurshid Ahmad, a resident of Dooru area of Islamabad district, who was booked under the draconian law, Public Safety Act, was summoned by Dooru police station on September 14 and detained at the district jail in Mattan.

His father Abdul Ahad Wani told media that Khurshid had developed pain in the abdomen in jail. Last week, the police took him to district hospital Islamabad where doctors removed the sutures which had developed infection. But police got him discharged from the hospital the same day and after conducting his medical test shifted him to Kathua jail,” said Wani.

The doctors in district hospital confirmed that the detainee was bought to the hospital for post operation procedure. “Yes, the sutures in his kidney were removed but he was discharged the same day,” a surgeon at the hospital told media. The family was not informed about Khurshid’s shifting to Kahtua jail but somehow they came to know about it.

Wani said the family caught up with the vehicle in which Khurshid was being ferried at Lower Munda. “Next day we learnt that Khurshid has been brought back and detained at police station Dooru. After conducting his medical test, Kathua jail authorities had refused to lodge him there,” Wani added.

Khurshid has been falsely charged with four cases during the 2016 uprising triggered by the killing of Burhan Wani.
