Many including women injured in clashes

Srinagar, November 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, against the Indian brutalities and the ill-treatment meted out to the illegally-detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of India and Kashmir.

Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Heavy deployments of Indian army, police and the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force were made in Srinagar and other districts of the valley. Restrictions were particularly imposed in Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud areas of Srinagar. Rail service between south and north Kashmir was also suspended.

The puppet authorities put senior resistance leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, while Syed Ali Gilani continues to remain under house detention at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar since 2010. The authorities arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik from his Maisuma residence and shifted him to Central Jail Srinagar.

Several protesters including a woman were injured in pellets fired by Indian troops on protesters in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today. The clashes between protesters and Indian forces erupted against a cordon and search operation launched by the troops in the town.

Muslim organisations staged protests in Jammu against journalist Rohit Sardana’s blasphemous tweets against important Muslim personalities in Islam. Speakers, on the occasion, urged strict action against Rohit Sardana.

A special court of India’s National Investigating Agency, today, extended remand of Shahid Yousuf, the son of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief, Syed Salahuddin, in a fake case till December 22. Shahid is detained in Delhi’s Tihar jail since October 24.

Meanwhile, ‘Boom Boom Afridi’ reverberated at high pitch with some slogans praising Kashmiri mujahideen during the final match of the Indian Army-organised Chinar Premier League at Kunzer cricket ground in Baramulla. Star Indian cricketer and former team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was present as chief guest on the occasion.
