Jammu, November 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Muslim organisations staged protests in Jammu against journalist Rohit Sardana who recently posted blasphemous tweets against important Muslim personalities in Islam.

The protests were organized by Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu, All Ladakh Muslim Student Association, Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plot and members of Shaheed Muttahri Library against Sardana’s blasphemous tweets.

Speaking on the occasion, President of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Syed Amanat Ali Shah said, “This is an attempt to get cheap publicity. The Press Council of India should impose life-time ban on his reporting so that he should not incite the religious sentiments of masses by reporting such derogatory statements.”

Secretary of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Professor Shujat Ali Khan said Sardana earlier also posted some statements to unleash communal hatred in the region. Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu called for banning and taking strict action against him, failing which “we will be forced to come on road to register our protest”.

Similar protests were organized at Talab Khitikan area of Old Jammu City under the leadership of Muhamamd Sharif Sartaj, President of Muslim Action Committee.
