Demo in Srinagar against thrashing of detainees

Srinagar, November 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh acts of state terrorism, martyred five Kashmiri youth and injured several others in Budgam and Sopore areas, today.

Bodies of four youth were recovered from the debris of a residential house destroyed by the troops during a siege and search operation at Futlipora in Pakherpora area of Budgam. Over a dozen people including a minor boy, Sameer Bashir Mir, were injured after Indian forces’ personnel fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on anti-India demonstrations in the area. The troops killed another youth during a crackdown operation at Sagipora in Sopore town. Earlier, an Indian soldier was injured in an attack in the same area. The puppet authorities snapped mobile Internet services in Budgam and Pulwama districts to prevent demonstrations against the killings.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the martyred youth. He said that the criminal silence of the world community was the sole reason for the unabated bloodshed of Kashmiris at the hands of the Indian troops. The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League in a statement also paid homage to the martyred youth.

Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik organized a sit-in protest outside the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar against attacks on illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail and Kathua jail of Jammu. The protesters were demanding the shifting of the Kashmiri prisoners from Tihar and Kathua jails to the Kashmir Valley. At least 18 Kashmiri prisoners, including a son of prominent freedom leader Syed Salahuddin were thrashed by staff of Tihar jail on the night of 21st November.

A delegation of Tehreek-e-Mazahamat led by its Chairman, Bilal Siddiqi, visited SMSH Hospital in Srinagar and enquired about the health of 11th class student, Zahid Ahmed Mir. Zahid was critically injured when Indian troops targeted him with pellet gun in Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar while he was returning from his examination on 24th November.
