Srinagar, December 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum has condemned the puppet authorities for placing its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest once again and turning the territory into a military fortress.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that it had become the regular feature of the puppet regime to repeatedly bar Juma prayers at the Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, and confine Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to his residence.

He said, “This deplorable measure is being carried out even during the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, and people have been prevented from offering Friday congregational prayers and subsequent Majalis-e-Milad commemorating the occasion of Friday following Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) which has deeply hurt their religious sentiments of people.”

The spokesman also condemned the continued house detention of APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyat leaders and activists. He also denounced the Indian police for detaining Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza at Sherbagh police station of Islamabad town.

He said, “Delhi and its local agents are running the territory through force and military might and have let loose terror upon the people of Kashmir, brazenly trampling all their rights and liberties.”
