Srinagar, December 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, new elections have been held for the office-bearers of Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir and Muhammad Sultan Magray has been elected as its interim President.

The new elections were held in the wake of the displeasure shown by the party cadres over the meeting of Professor Abdul Ghani Butt with the India-appointed representative, Dineshwar Sharma.

In a meeting of the officer-bearers and workers of the party held in Srinagar, Manzoorul Haq Butt was elected as vice president and Merrajuddin Saleh as general secretary of the party. The meeting decided to fully comply with the policies of joint resistance leadership.

The new party president has informed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq about the new structure.
