UK’s APPG on Kashmir hears testimony on IOK » Kashmir Media Service

London, December 15 (KMS): In London, the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kashmir in the British Parliament heard testimony regarding the human rights situation of Indian occupied Kashmir.

Those who gave testimony included Dr Syed Inayatullah Andrabi, Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, Raja Najabat Hussain, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry, Azmat Khan, Dr Farzana Shaikh and Sadia Mir. They said that Indian troops were perpetrating the worst type of human rights violations in the occupied territory.

Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam and Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry presented dossiers that contained the details, supported by facts and figures, of the atrocities of the Indian troops and police personnel in occupied Kashmir. The dossiers maintained that the Indian forces’ personnel were involved in massacre, custodial killings, torture, rape of women and mass blinding of people through use of pellet guns.

Those who attended the hearing included members of Parliament, Chris Leslie, Lord Qurban Hussain, Naz Shah, Julie Cooper and Jullian Ibrahim.

The APPG Chairman, Chris Leslie, addressing on the occasion said that the Group would hold more hearings on the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and prepare a final report, which would be presented in the UK Parliament.
