Srinagar, December 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front led by its vice Chairman, Master Muhammad Afzal, visited the family members of martyred Asif Iqbal at Thandipora in Kupwara.]

Asif Iqbal, a taxi driver by profession, was shot dead by the Indian troops while he was transporting a patient to hospital in Sopore on Saturday night.

Speaking to the mourners on the occasion, Master Muhammad Afzal said that brutal killing of innocent Asif Iqbal was another glaring example of Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. “A sole bread-earner of the family has been killed with impunity and international community is maintaining criminal silence on such gruesome killings,” he deplored.

He also delivered a message of the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik to the bereaved family.

The JKLF vice chairman also denounced the illegal detention of a party activist, Nazir Ahmad. He was arrested by the Indian police two days ago and still remains in police custody.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir led by Bashir Ahmad Qureshi also visited the bereaved family at Thandipora in Kupwara. Bashir Qureshi on the occasion said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would not be allowed to go waste.

A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League also visited the area and expressed solidarity with the martyr’s family. The delegation comprised Waheed Ahmad Gojri, Muhammad Yousuf Mir and Sajjad Ahmad Lone.

Meanwhile, member of the so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed, rejected the magisterial probe ordered by the puppet administration into the killing of Asif Iqbal. He said that when such probes yielded nothing in the past, how it could yield any result this time.
