Srinagar, December 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities on disallowed Juma prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today.

All gates of the Jamia Masjid were locked by the Indian troops while all roads leading to the historic mosque were closed with concertina wires.

The authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions in parts of Srinagar to prevent people from assembling at the mosque and staging demonstrations on the call of the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who addresses the faithful every Friday, was placed under house detention, last evening.

“18th Friday of this year #JamaMasjid locked down once again by the anti-Muslim ruling regime,” the Mirwaiz tweeted.

“@MehboobaMufti following the path, rather breaking the record of her predecessors by disallowing Muslims from offering Friday prayers and imposing restrictions in #ShereKhaas!”

The Joint Resistance Leadership had called for protests after prayers, today, against the recent killing of civilians including two women.
