Srinagar, December 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities foiled a meeting called by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani at his residence in Srinagar, today.

The authorities made heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces, and blocked all entry points to the residence of ailing Syed Ali Gilani with barbed wires. Gilani is undergoing house detention since 2010.

“Forces did not allow anybody to enter the residence of Gilani,” an APHC spokesman said in a statement issued in Srinagar, today.

APHC leader Zamrooda Habib told media that police had erected barricades on way leading to Gilani’s residence. She said that the puppet authorities at the behest of Nagpur wanted to eliminate Syed Ali Gilani by confining him in continued isolation. Zamrooda said that the dictations of Nagpur are unacceptable to the resistance leadership, and urged the international community to intervene in the matter to save the life of the octogenarian leader.

Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar said that police arrested most of its members ahead of the scheduled meeting.
